State of the Practice in Freight Data: A Review of Available Freight Data in the U.S.

The University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Transportation Research has released a report that summarizes a review of available U.S. freight data sources – both public and commercial.  The report includes the characteristics of the 31 databases reviewed, including sponsoring organization, performing organization, data collected, sampling method, survey method, quality control procedure, geographical coverage, frequency of updates, and the assumptions and limitations of each data source.
