To fulfill one of its oldest missions, the Transportation Research Board (TRB) disseminates transportation research results and technology information through an extensive array of timely publications. TRB has gained national and international prominence for its books and reports assessing the state of the art or practice in specific areas of transportation, presenting the results of transportation research, addressing major national transportation policy issues, and identifying research needs. On average, TRB produces more than 130 publications per year that are available on an annual subscription basis.
TRB offers four types of annual subscriptions:
- TR News – TRBs bimonthly news magazine features timely articles and state-of-the-art research and practice in all modes of transportation.
- Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board (TRR Journal) – TRB publishes approximately 42-45 volumes of the TRR Journal per year, containing more than 800 papers grouped by subject. TRR Journals are available in print format and also will be available through an online service beginning in 2007.
- TRR Journal Online - TRB’s TRR Journal Online website provides 24/7 electronic access to the full text of as many as 7,600 peer-reviewed papers that have been published as part of the Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board (TRR Journal) series since 1996. The site includes the latest in search and analysis technology, and is updated as new TRR Journal papers become available.
- TRB Library Subscription Package -- Includes all of the regular serial publications of TRB in print format. Starting in 2007, the TRR: Journals also will be available through an online service. TRB books and reports cover 16 broad categories and topics, spanning a range of transportation functions and modes. Annually, TRB produces approximately 130 titles in its serial publications that include the TRR Journal; TR News; Special Reports; Conference Proceedings; Transportation Research Circulars; National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) and Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Reports, Research Results Digests, Legal Research Digests, and Syntheses; and Commercial Truck and Bus Safety Synthesis Program (CTBSSP) Syntheses and Research Results Digests.
Retroactive subscriptions are available for printed publications. Subscription package run from January 1 to December 31. The TRR: Journals are released over a six-month period from September to February. The TRR: Journal CD-ROM has been discontinued as of 2007. Refer to the pro forma invoice for purchase options.
