The TRB Committee for Review of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Research, Development, and Demonstration Programs has issued its third letter report to the FRA. The report offers observations and recommendations on the overall direction of FRA’s research, development, and demonstration programs; examines specific areas currently in progress or being planned within the Railroad R&D Program; addresses FRA’s request or recommendations on future directions for the Next Generation High-Speed Rail Technology Demonstration program; reviews contextual research; and offers suggestions for the agenda of the committee’s fall meeting.
