Training Program for Night Road Work to Improve Safety and Operations

TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Research Results Digest 293: Training Program for Night Road Work to Improve Safety and Operations describes development of  a self-contained training package that complements  NCHRP Report 475: A Procedure for Assessing and Planning Nighttime Highway Construction and Maintenance, which presented a decision process to assist highway agencies in evaluating night work alternatives against other work schedules, and NCHRP Report 476: Guidelines for Design and Operation of Nighttime Traffic Control for Highway Maintenance and Construction, which provides guidelines for developing a plan for night work that will provide public and worker safety.  The self-contained training package is available as NCHRP CD-ROM 50: Training Materials for Night Road Work to Improve Safety and Operations.
