The Kansas Department of Transportation has release a report that examines new methods for quickly estimating the effects of detention storage on the performance of existing culverts and the sizing of new culverts. According to the report, the methods are applicable to pipe and box culverts operating under inlet control with no overtopping of the roadway.
Note: Due to several errors within the report the Kansas Department of Transportation has recalled the document. They are in the process of correcting the errors and plan to issue a corrected version of the report in March 2006.
