Short-Term License Suspensions for Drinking Drivers

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety has released a report that examines the short-term driver’s license suspension law in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada.  According to the report, short-term —12-hour to 24-hour—“administrative license suspensions have been used in Canada for more than 20 years as a means to remove from the road those drivers with relatively low blood-alcohol concentrations (BACs) and to provide them with ample time to have their BAC return to zero before their driving privileges are reinstated.”
